About the Author: Leland Jones

I've been an avid writer for most of my life. I started out in middle school writing short stories and scripts for the school plays. As time pressed on I focused my writing on more personal topics, things that really hit home for me. I found out quickly that anyone will read what you post as long as it's engaging. I was a professional gamer for 6 years on the Major League Gaming circuit (www.mlgpro.com), I blogged and kept up with the social networks to interact with the community. It really pushed my talents to the next step as I was constantly engaging readers throughout my tenure. My love for baseball has always been there. The Royals have fueled my passion for the game since I was a young man. Born and raised in Kansas City, I quickly fell in love with the team after attending several games with my father. If I can't find a TV to watch the game, I'm glued to my radio so I don't miss a pitch. I hope to one day make a step forward and work somewhere within the Royals organization.

The Royals Are A Broken Record

It’s been really hard to try and pick something to write about when it comes to our beloved Kansas City Royals. I have been struggling mightily with a topic that is worth writing about. I just got back from a much needed week vacation and I can safely say I only checked scores a couple Keep Reading

Royals Trade Jonathan Sanchez to Rockies for Jeremy Guthrie

Well it is actually official now; Jonathan Sanchez will not be back in a Royals uniform (hopefully). Sanchez was traded to the Colorado Rockies on Friday afternoon for veteran RHP Jeremy Guthrie. On paper this trade seems like a swap of two awful pitchers, but there is some hope and I am a fan of Keep Reading

Jonathan Broxton on the move?

There have been some recent rumors about Royals fill in closer Jonathan Broxton being moved. The team that seems to have the most interest in the 28 year old righty is the New York Mets. We have been told that the Royals are only interested in locking up some SP at least through the 2013 Keep Reading

The Royals Enter the Second Half With a Lot of Questions

Last night was a fantastic display of this town’s baseball fire. Someone finally gave us a reason to cheer (and boo) and we did not shy away. I’m not going to talk about the All-Star Game and all the festivities that surrounded it. It was great for the city, let’s move on. The Royals were Keep Reading

The Royals Are Halfway Through a Crazy Season

We are exactly halfway through the Royals season and we have been treated to a roller coaster ride filled with some unique passengers. We’ve got the standard crybaby kid who never wanted to get on but was forced to by his parents (Sanchez), the kid who had already made up his mind to ride in Keep Reading

Are the Kansas City Royals Buying or Selling?

We are a few weeks away from the trade deadline and there has been some speculation about whether the Royals will be going out to bring in a solid starting pitcher, or selling for the future. The Royals have played just decent enough to stick around in a weak AL Central that has yet to Keep Reading

Is Ned Yost Giving the Royals the Best Chance to Win?

There is something strange going on inside of Kauffman Stadium. The Royals haven’t played great baseball this year and the biggest concern coming into the season was starting pitching. Yet surprisingly, the Royals have been saved by their pitching staff recently and doomed by their lack of offense. I am an avid listener of some local Keep Reading

Exactly How Valuable is Jeff Francoeur to the Royals?

This article is a response to Ken Rosenthal’s “Frenchy: Too Valuable to Trade?” While I don’t doubt Jeff Francoeur’s leadership capabilities, I can’t say holding on to him and keeping Wil Myers at bay is the best solution for this team. I understand how important the clubhouse leader can be (especially to a young team), Keep Reading

Royals Fans Anxiously Awaiting Return of Salvador Perez

The Royals finished off a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers in walk off fashion on Thursday night (4-3), the big hit being a 2 out RBI single to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth provided by Bryan Pena (Jarrod Dyson scored advancing on a throw to end the game). It was a great Keep Reading

The Seattle Mariners Combined No Hitter Raises Questions

Seattle Mariners – 1  Los Angeles Dodgers – 0 On Friday night at Safeco Field in Seattle, Tom Wilhelmsen delivered the Mariners 114th pitch of the game to Andre Eithier of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Unbeknownst to Tom, Eithier’s sharp hit ground ball to second would complete the 10th combined no hitter in big league Keep Reading
